Imaginary Roman Forum

This is something different what I usually submit, because I didn't copy an existing model but it's something invented. There is a long time since I drew a building without using a direct reference.

I created this for an exercise from the online course Roman Architecture. The final assignment was to create a Roman city, with one featured building. I chose as my featured building the forum. So I try to create a tipical Roman forum, using different elements from real forums. So, you can see several couts , with the temple in the top left, the basilica (court building) in the bottom rigth, and the Curia (Senate House) in the top right. The columns in the Curia court are inspired in those that Diocletian added behind the forum's Rostra in Rome. The entrances are inspired in tipical roman archs.

Aquí viene algo diferente a lo que usualmente subo a mi cuenta, porque no se trata de algo copiado directamente de un modelo, sino de algo que inventé. Ya ha pasado mucho tiempo desde la última vez que hice algo sin que se tratara de algo existente.

Cree este proyecto como un ejercicio para el curso en línea de Arquitectura Romana. En la asignación final teníamos que crear una ciudad romana, con un edificio destacado. Yo escogí como mi edificio destacado hacer un foro. Así que creé un foro romano típico, usando diferentes elementos de foros romanos existentes. Podrás notar entones que consiste en varios patios, con un templo en la esquina superior izquierda, la basílica (edificio judicial) abajo a la derecha, y la Curia (edificio del Senado) arriba a la derecha. Las columnas del patio de la Curia están inspiradas en las que Diocleciano levantó detrás del Rostrum, del foro de Roma. Las entradas están basadas en arcos romanos típicos.
